Moment Ukrainian tank obliterates Russian position 'as 1,600 of Putin's soldiers killed'

Footage from the war in Ukraine has shown the moment a Ukrainian tank strikes Russian troops as the bloody conflict continues.

Shared on social media by the Defence of Ukraine X account, the footage shows a Ukrainian tank firing a shell at Russian positions in a rural area.

The tank inflicts a number of big explosions on Russian positions as Moscow's troops lurked behind a treeline.

The Defence of Ukraine account added: "A tank in service with the Rubizh Brigade is destroying Russian treeline positions in the Kupiansk direction."

This comes after Russia lost 1,610 men in one day on November 24, as per Ukrainian Defence Ministry figures.

Kyiv now believes that Russia has suffered over 700,000 total casualties since the war began.

On top of this, Russia is also believed to have lost 9429 tanks, 20,787 artillery, and 19,480 UAV systems.

Earlier this month, Russia suffered a record 1,950 casualties in one day, Ukraine claimed.

Kyiv and Moscow have exchanged drone attacks in recent days as the conflict continues to escalate.

The UK and US have now given Ukraine permission to strike Russian territory with British and American missiles - a move that has sparked anger in Moscow.

In response, Russia struck Ukraine with a ballistic missile and President Vladimir Putin threatened attacks on the UK and US.

According to a report by French newspaper Le Monde, the UK and France are now in talks to station their troops in Ukraine.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, dismissed the reports while warning the UK and France against such a move.

He added: “There is no unanimity of opinion among Europeans on this matter but, of course, some hotheads appear."

Le Monde said "sensitive discussions, most of which are classified" have resumed after Donald Trump's US election win.

A British military source said: "Discussions are under way between the UK and France on defence cooperation, particularly with a view to creating a hard core of allies in Europe, focusing on Ukraine and European security in the broad sense."
