Donald Trump, 79, has sparked health concerns after the American leader appeared to doze off during a roundtable discussion at the White House, in Washington, D.C., today (Thursday, December 18). Trump, who was sitting behind a desk wearing his signature dark blue suit paired with a red tie, a white shirt, and a pin of the US flag, "struggled to stay awake" during the recorded event as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was thanking the US President. As Trump listened, viewers thought his face was "drooping". Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, someone shared the clip of Trump looking very tired and wrote: "Trump's face droops as he struggles to stay awake during another on-camera event."

Another shared in reference to former President Joe Biden: "Imagine having a plaque made calling someone 'Sleepy Joe' when you can’t stay awake at meetings for a full 24 hours after it went up."

A third commented: "I know that look. He had no idea where he was when he woke up." Someone else penned: "Barely awake but - to be fair - he expended a lot of energy on that rant last night. Quite a workout."

Defending Trump, someone quipped: "Well, sure! Like listening to a lullaby with that smooth-as-silk voice talking."

Another added: "To be fair, I would want to sleep through anything RFK Jr was saying, too."

The moment came after he told reporters he was "surprised" and "honoured" that the Kennedy Centre had renamed the building after him.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump's press secretary, stated earlier today that the board voted unanimously to rename it the Trump-Kennedy Centre due to "the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building".

However, Ohio Democratic Representative Joyce Beatty, who is one of the board members, claimed: "This was not unanimous. I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this move."
