Minneapolis shooter boasts 'kill Donald Trump' in chilling video before attack

Chilling video footage purported to have been filmed by the perpetrator of a mass shooting at a school in Minneapolis shows “kill Donald Trump” written on one of the weapons. Robin Westman, 23, has been named by local media as the shooter in the church of a Minneapolis Catholic School which claimed the lives of two children.

Westman shot through stained glass windows as the children prayed inside at around 8.30am local time on Wednesday before turning the gun on himself. A disturbing 10 minute video has been released online which is believed to have been filmed by Westman shortly before his sickening attack which injured at least 17 other people. In the video, Westman can be seen sharing his suicide note, apologising to his parents for not turning out “as you had hoped” and acknowleding that his action would turn his siblings lives upside down.

The chilling video footage shows a range of gun paraphernalia including targets, ammunition and a range of weapons.

Written on the body of one of the weapons is a message saying “kill Donald Trump” amongst a host of ramblings including “kill pedos” and “where is your God?”

According to the New York Post, police are currently looking into the video and several others recorded over the past four years.

In one video on a now deleted YouTube account, Westman appeared to have a drawing of the layout of a church in which he says quietly “I’m going to kill myself”.

Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara said the gunman – armed with a rifle, shotgun and pistol – approached the side of the church and shot dozens of rounds through the windows towards the children sitting in the pews during Mass at the Annunciation Catholic School.

The children who died were eight and 10, and 14 other children were among the wounded, the chief said.

Michael Simpson said his 10-year-old grandson, Weston Halsne, was nicked by a bullet as he sat by the church windows.

His voice shaking as he left the area around the school, Mr Simpson said the violence during Mass on the third day of school left him wondering whether God was watching over.

“I don’t know where he is,” he said.

The police chief said the gunman was in his early 20s, did not have an extensive known criminal history and is believed to have acted alone, but did not release the name or information on possible connections to the school.

A law enforcement official told The Associated Press authorities have identified the gunman as Robin Westman.

“This was a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people worshipping. The sheer cruelty and cowardice of firing into a church full of children is absolutely incomprehensible,” the police chief said as church bells rang out.

Minnesota governor Tim Walz called the violence “horrific” in a post on X.

On Truth Social, President Donald Trump said he was briefed on the shooting.

The White House later said Mr Trump spoke to Mr Walz.

The governor was the Democratic vice presidential nominee in last year’s election against Mr Trump’s running mate, now vice president JD Vance, a Republican.
