The property could ultimately face a compulsory purchase order if its owners fail to take action, while authorities have also required specialist bat surveys before restoration work can proceed.Mentmore Towers, the sprawling country house that doubled as Bruce Wayne’s iconic home in Batman Begins, has been described as being in “very bad” condition by Historic England. Buckinghamshire Council has now issued a listed-building repairs notice, saying the work is “reasonably necessary for the proper preservation” of the historic property.The notice comes amid concerns over the deterioration of the mansion, including its roofs, chimneys, rooflights, roof lanterns and leadwork.
