According to the owner of the bakery on Residenzstraße, one of the roofers was drinking coffee in his café when the victim allegedly came in and insulted him.
The bakery owner told local media that the roofer was a "regular customer of mine".
It is believed that following this altercation, an argument ensued which led to the victim being asked to leave by the owner. It is reported that he later returned with a machete and attacked the tradesmen with a machete before fleeing.
A witness told BILD: "The victim walked from Lindauer Allee to Walliser Straße with his shirt off and a gold chain. I couldn't see a machete, but he had something tucked under his arm.
"Then the woman saw five to eight men in black Engelbert Strauss clothing running after the man.
