Two people have died following a shooting incident outside the iconic Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVPD) said in a statement early Monday that the shots were fired around 10:40 p.m. local time in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard.
So far police have not revealed the identities of either the victims or the gunman. However, a manhunt has been launched to track down the suspect, with police emphasising that the shooting was an "isolated incident".
LVPD said at a press conference: "At this point, every effort is being made by members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to locate, apprehend and arrest the suspect who is responsible for this crime."
Police believe the shooting was the result of an ongoing conflict that started on social media and that the gunman knew one of the victims.
"The suspect and the victim had previously engaged in some type of conflict using a variety of social media platforms," they said.
The shooting was reportedly filmed as it unfolded by a YouTuber who was live streaming from the area at the time.
The video has since been taken down, but shows people walking along the busy street as music plays for several minutes, before a man comes into the frame holding a gun and fires at least seven shots.
On arriving at the scene, police officers ran towards the gunfire and found the victims lying on the sidewalk suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
They attempted to save their lives by giving first aid, but tragically were unable to prevent their deaths.
The victims were subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by officers.
A video posted to X shows a police officer performing CPR to someone on the sidewalk.
