National Guard troops have now arrived in Los Angeles, following orders from Donald Trump to stamp out ongoing protests against deportations.
Around 300 reservist soldiers have been stationed outside various locations across the city where police have used tear gas and fired rubber bullets against protestors who have lit fires and attacked police vehicles.
The deployment comes after two days of unrest, with protesters taking to the streets in a bid to block federal immigration authorities from carrying out deportations.
The move by the former President has sparked a strong reaction from activists, as clashes continue between demonstrators and federal agents at multiple sites.

Trump vows to 'liberate' Los Angeles from 'Migrant Invasion'
Donald Trump has vowed to unleash the full force of his administration to bring what he called the “liberation” of Los Angeles, following days of violent clashes between protesters and federal agents over deportations.
Taking to his Truth Social platform, the President delivered a fiery statement, describing the city as “invaded and occupied” by illegal migrants and criminals.
“A once great American City, Los Angeles, has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals,” he wrote.
“Now violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations — But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve.
“I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots.
“Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
His remarks come just hours after hundreds of National Guard troops were deployed to hotspots around the city, where demonstrators have attempted to block deportation operations.
