President William Ruto arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a five-day visit to strengthen Kenya’s growing relationship with China. Since 2013, Beijing has invested billions in Kenyan infrastructure, transforming its economy. Now, Ruto aims to leverage this partnership politically, advocating for deeper cooperation and a permanent African seat on the UN Security Council. The visit also highlights Kenya’s shift from the West towards China’s expanding global influence. Olivia Bizot reports.
