Iran has threatened to restart missile attacks and block the Strait of Hormuz as it pulled out of a peace meeting in Switzerland with the US.

According to local Iranian media, the country has threatened to cancel all upcoming negotiations, despite signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) just yesterday.

Iran warns it will re-block the Strait and respond with missiles over what it calls the direct violation of the US-Iran MOU's first clause, reports say.

The move comes as Israel continues its military foothold in southern Lebanon, despite a commitment from the first clause to end the war.

It comes less than 24 hours after the MOU was electronically signed.

The first round of technical talks were due to be launched this Friday in Geneva, between Vance and Ghalibaf, however no trip has been confirmed.

Following the signing both sides were required to enter into discussions to resolve the most significant outstanding matters.

Negotiations may still continue in accordance with the MOU, but they will be limited and there may be a return to the old platform in the negotiations.

Iranian local media claimed the country rejects any 'theatre from Trump' about Netanyahu being rogue.

President Trump warned leaders in Tehran to honour the agreement, or the US will restart the war and proceed with the Islamic Republic's destruction.

“We’re gonna bomb the hell out of them if they violate the agreement,” Trump said.

The deal has been largely critiqued since its announcement, with the leader of the country Mojtaba Khamenei, saying Trump struck the deal "out of desperation".

The leader added at the time that he was committed to the memorandum of understanding to protect the rights of the nation.
