International Women's Day is being celebrated today in countries across the world. In Iran, marking the date can be complicated, with outright expressions of feminism targeted by authorities, notably since the start of the Woman Life Freedom protests sparked off by the death in police custody of 22-year-old Maahsa Amini in September 2022. Chowra Makaremi, anthropologist and a researcher at the National Centre for Scientific Research in Paris, joins us for a discussion on the topic.
