Stunning new footage has emerged from the battlefield of the Russia-Ukraine war, purportedly showing a fiery attack on Vladimir Putin's forces.

The new videos shared by Ukrainian forces in Kursk show an assault on Russian positions in a tree line and smoke grenades being deployed.

The 47th Brigade, in US-supplied Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Abrams tanks, dealt devastating blows to Russian forces as an exchange of fire erupted.

It said in a statement: "Could anyone have imagined half a year ago that American equipment would be on enemy territory?"

The Mechanised Brigade has been deployed along the front lines in the fiercest areas of battle and further revealed that US-made tube launched, optically tracked, wire command link guided OTW) anti-tank missiles were used.

The 116th Separate Mechanised Brigade added that the 47th Brigade utilised armoured vehicles and was supported by other parts of the military to carry out a "well-prepared assault operation with outstanding cooperation between units".

The videos also apper to show a BMP-2 amphibious infantry fighting vehicle from the 130th Battalion, infantry from the 33rd Assault Battalion, and artillery fire from the 21st Mechanised Brigade.

Ukraine's advance into Kursk, western Russia, marked the most significant move into the territory since the war broke out in February 2022.

Over the weekend, the think tank The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said Ukrainian and Russian forces had made advances in the region.

Earlier this month, the 47th Brigade praised the US Abrams and Bradleys that were essential in the caught-on-camera attack on Russian positions. It said: "American equipment makes the difference on the battlefield."

The US has already supplied Ukraine with 31 Abrams and over 300 Bradleys, on top of other support vehicles, according to The Pentagon.

Ahead of next week's presidential election, Kyiv’s leaders have tried to promote their version of what Volodymyr Zelensky's "victory plan". They hope key decisions will be made — including Ukraine’s bid for NATO membership — by the new administration.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Zelensky, said: "We believe that regardless of the last name of the future president of the US, the country of the United States will not give up global dominance, global leadership as such.

"And this is possible only through the support of Ukraine and through the defeat of the Russian Federation."
