'Infantino is the one who has brought the most to Africa' says Samuel Eto'o

In an interview with FRANCE 24, former football star and current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation Samuel Eto'o spoke about the recent backlash towards FIFA president Gianni Infantino and confirmed he will support him for re-election because of "everything he has brought to African football", adding that the African federations will defend what seems "right to us given the challenges that we face in our own federations". Gianni Infantino, the president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) is still in hot water because of his plan to sell stakes of the World Cup to private investors which has sparked a massive outcry. Despite the project being abandoned, the European, Asian and North American confederations have called for his departure. The African Confederation of Football (CAF) which has unanimously sided with him, however. "We don't face the same challenges as those in Europe or South America for some cases. Our budgets are limited yet we are expected to perform just as well as those major footballing nations. So, I think for that reason alone, and I'm sure you'll agree with me, that we can't broach this issue from the same point of view"...
