Her son Raghavendra Kumar told the police that his mother does not speak English and when the con woman approached her, she thought it was a neighbor or someone she knew. The stranger bent and touched her feet and then hugged her when the mother was in shock as she was trying to figure out who the stranger was. By then, the stranger placed a fake piece of jewelry around the old woman's neck, removing her real gold necklace.
