Clashes between India and Pakistan continued to escalate, sparking fears of all-out war between the two nuclear-armed nations.
Azad Kashmir: India launch missile attack on Pakistan
India claims to have launched fresh strikes on radar and air defence systems inside Pakistan as clashes between the two nations threaten to boil over into all-out war. "It has been reliably learnt that an air defence system at Lahore has been neutralised," India said in a statement.
The news comes as Pakistan claimed to have killed dozens of Indian soldiers in attacks targeting Indian military facilities in Kashmir. Pakistan's Information Minister Attuallah Tarar said: "We have blown their military installations on the de facto border". He went on to claim Islamabad's forces killed "40-50 Indian soldiers" along the line of control.

World on the brink as Pakistan 'kills 40-50 Indian soldiers' in bloody fighting
Pakistan's information minister has claimed that its soldiers have killed 40-50 Indian soldiers by destroying military installations on the border in Kashmir. "We have blown their Indian military installations on the de facto border," Attuallah Tarar said.
Speaking on The World, Tarar labelled India as the “aggressor” and vowed to respond to Indian attacks on Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The Indian military launched the attacks as part of “Operation Sindoor” as part of a plan to hold those responsible for a terrorist attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir on April 22. If true, the deaths of as many as 50 Indian soldiers would represent a significant escalation in the latest conflict between the two nuclear armed powers.

An Indian drone in the early hours of Thursday in Lahore, according to Pakistani officials. This comes as India evacuates thousands from villages near the heavily militarised border in the disputed Kashmir region.
The latest drone incident follows Indian missile strikes on Pakistani locations that resulted in 31 civilian deaths, including women and children, just a day earlier, officials claim.
Tensions have exploded between the two nations since April 22, after gunmen killed 26 people, mostly Indian Hindu tourists, in India-controlled Kashmir. India has accused Pakistan of supporting the terrorists responsible for the attack, a claim Islamabad denies.
