The Orient Express is known for its stunning trains but it is now moving to the seas with a £685 million superyacht called the OE Corinthian

And it will be the largest sailing yacht in the world when it sets sail in 2026.

The yacht is built by French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique and measures a whopping 721 feet and features three 328-foot tilting masts.

It also uses an innovative wind propulsion system called Solid Sail, combined with hybrid engines powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

In general, the design is focused on reducing emissions, with the ship also hydrogen-ready for future green technology.

“This yacht is a game-changer and combines sustainability with the elegance the Orient Express is famous for,” said Sebastien Bazin, chairman and CEO of Accor, the company behind the project.

The OE Corinthian will offer 54 suites, including a presidential suite spanning 15,230 square feet with a private terrace.

Each suite will be designed with luxury materials like leather and marble and include panoramic windows for sea views.

Anyone who can afford it will be able to enjoy five dining venues, eight bars - including a 1930s-inspired speakeasy - a cabaret, cinema, and a spa.

What’s more, a swimming pool and a marina at the stern will allow direct access to the sea for water activities.

Designer Maxime d’Angeac said the yacht blends the classic spirit of the Orient Express with modern design. He added: “This is more than a yacht; it’s an entirely new way to travel in style.”

The ship is designed for routes through the Mediterranean, Adriatic and the Caribbean. Its eco-friendly sails can propel the yacht at speeds of up to 17 knots under the right conditions.

It also features technology to protect marine life, including a system to detect mammals in the water.

The OE Corinthian is the first in a planned fleet of luxury sailing yachts under the Orient Express brand.

It is currently unknown how much an excursion on the yacht will cost passengers.
