ICE Reportedly Set to Ramp Up Operations Against Haitian Migrants After TPS Ruling

More than 300,000 Haitian immigrants are set to lose their ability to legally live and work in the U.S. on Monday, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is reportedly preparing to escalate its operations to arrest and deport some of them.Those expanded operations could start as early as this week, according to reports from Fox News and CBS News, which cite unnamed federal sources. Ohio will reportedly be heavily targeted, particularly Springfield, where President Donald Trump had, in 2024, falsely accused Haitian migrants of eating residents’ pets.A potential crackdown on Haitian migrants follows the Supreme Court’s June ruling that allowed the Trump Administration, for the time being, to end the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for those fleeing violence and natural disaster in Haiti and Syria.
