“I was just going to...”: Candace Owens reveals why she avoided Fort Huachuca claims during private Erika Kirk meeting

Candace Owens is again in the spotlight after explaining why she did not raise the Fort Huachuca claims during a private meeting with Erika Kirk. The issue is tied to questions Owens has raised about Turning Point USA following the assassination of its founder, Charlie Kirk.

On December 9, during her podcast, Owens said one of her sources claimed to see Charlie Kirk’s chief of security, Brian Harpole, at Fort Huachuca a day before the killing. Owens later met Erika Kirk privately on December 15. Both later posted on X that the meeting was “productive.”Days later, Candace Owens invited her source, Mitch Snow, onto her podcast. That decision, and what followed, led to heavy criticism and fresh questions online.

During a livestream on X on Monday, Candace Owens said she did not bring up Fort Huachuca in her private talk with Erika Kirk because she was still checking details. She said, “During that meeting, I did not bring up the Fort Huachuca thing because I first and foremost needed to continue vetting various aspects of it, but also, I have Brian Harpole's number, and so I was just going to text Brian Harpole directly... During that interview, Erika gave me Brian Harpole's flights and said, 'You know, I know that you mentioned that you thought Brian Harpole was at this interview.

Here are his flights,” she stated.Candace Owens also said she already had Brian Harpole’s phone number and planned to contact him directly. She explained that Erika Kirk shared Harpole’s flight details during the meeting. Owens said she found it “interesting” that the flights were shared without any mention of Fort Huachuca.After the meeting, Owens invited Mitch Snow on her podcast on December 18. Snow repeated the claim about seeing Brian Harpole at the base.

He also added that he allegedly saw Erika Kirk there the night before the reported meeting. These claims are unverified.Following backlash from conservative voices, Owens said she decided to go live with Snow only after checking what she called the “metadata” he provided. She did not give full technical details during the livestream.Candace Owens also responded to claims that she raised money for Snow improperly.

She said Snow never asked for money. “First off, he never asked me to raise money for him,” she said. Owens added she chose to set up a GiveSendGo page on her own through GiveSendGo.She later said Snow emailed her and refused the funds. “Thank you so much for raising money, but I do not want to accept this money from you,” she quoted.Candace Owens continues to question the official investigation and has disputed claims that Tyler Robinson acted alone.
