Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, set aside his looming federal sentences to enjoy a family outing at

Disneyland

in California last week. He was accompanied by his wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, and their young son, Beau Jr. The trio rode popular attractions such as Dumbo, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at the Anaheim park.
Melissa sported a Minnie Mouse ear headband, while Beau Jr donned festive Mickey Mouse attire, adding a holiday flair to their day. Despite recent political setbacks for the Democratic Party, including vice president Kamala Harris’ surprising election defeat, the family appeared in good spirits.
The Bidens were joined by friends, a VIP tour guide, and several Secret Service agents. They were also seen indulging in funnel cake and enjoying Disneyland’s

Christmas parade

, soaking up holiday cheer before Hunter’s December court dates.

Hunter

Biden’s public appearance comes as he faces sentencing for

tax evasion

and illegal gun possession. In September, he pleaded guilty to nine counts of tax evasion related to $1.4 million in unpaid taxes between 2016 and 2019. Earlier, he was convicted on three firearm-related charges stemming from illegal possession while battling drug addiction. His sentencing is scheduled for December 4 (gun case) and December 16 (tax evasion case).

President Biden has affirmed through White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that he will not pardon his son, emphasizing his respect for the legal process.
Last month, President-elect Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of pardoning Hunter if reelected, saying during an interview that he wouldn’t rule it out.
As political tensions mount, Hunter has voiced concerns about Trump’s potential return to power, accusing him of threatening democracy.
