Houston’s Greenspoint Mall set for demolition; 80-acre site to get $150M industrial park

Now, the former North Houston shopping centre is headed for demolition, with a much different future planned for the property. Lincoln Property Company, in partnership with New York Life Investment Management, announced plans for CityNorth Industrial Park, a $150 million redevelopment covering approximately 80 acres. According to Lincoln’s announcement, the project will replace the former mall with 1.2 million square feet of industrial buildings, along with retail and service uses. Demolition is expected to begin in October 2026.From a major shopping destination to a vacant propertyGreenspoint Mall once occupied an important place in North Houston’s retail scene. The mall opened in the 1970s and operated for nearly five decades, but its fortunes changed as shopping habits shifted and competition from newer retail destinations increased.
