Five people were injured after a bull caused chaos at a festival in Spain. The 90-stone animal, known as Caminante, broke free from the rest of the pack at the famous Running of the Bulls festival in Pamplona.
One victim was gored by a bull horn under his right armpit while a second was launched into the air by Caminante. The fighting bull even turned on one of the ranchers trying to guide it towards pens in the bullring. One participant said: "It was panic out there today. It’s a miracle if only one person ended up getting gored. It could have been into double figures."
According to a Red Cross official, one person suffered a gore wound and was among five people taken to hospital. The man suffered a serious chest injury and was left with multiple rib fractures.
The festival sees fighting bulls set loose along the twisting streets in a race to reach the bullfight arena. Up to 4,000 people, dressed in white clothes with a red sash and neckerchief, run alongside them in the race which takes place over 850 metres and can last three to four minutes.
Meanwhile, thousands of spectators watch on from balconies and wooden barricades. Millions more follow on live television during the popular event.
Caminante was the second heaviest of the six fighting bulls that took part in the recent race. Another, named Lioso, weighed in at a huge 91 stone.

A total of 16 people have been killed during bull runs at the festival since records began in 1910. The most recent death was in 2009 when 27-year-old Daniel Jimeno, from Madrid, was gored in the neck by a bull named Capuchino.
Foreign attendees, including from Britain and Ireland, have also been injured at the event over the years. Last year, one spectator collapsed and died despite the best efforts of the emergency services.
Apart from the bull races, the festival includes eating, drinking and dancing. Some of the bulls are also slain in the bull ring by professional matadors.
