A woman was allegedly gang raped after being bundled into a car while she was walking home. Police said three men have been arrested in connection with the reported attack on Saturday night (July 18).
The victim, a 30-year-old who works in a fast-food restaurant, was walking home when a car pulled up alongside her at around 9.45pm. The driver reportedly asked her for directions before she was pushed inside the vehicle. It's alleged the woman was then gang raped before being threatened. The car was reportedly stopped on a number of occasions before arriving at a property at 11.30pm. She then came up with a cunning plan to escape the attackers and call police.

As reported by the Indian Express, the alleged gang rape took place in the Mysuru district in southern Karnataka. Local police have confirmed three men were arrested on Monday (July 20) and remain in custody.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the woman was forced into the vehicle before being threatened with a beer bottle if she resisted. She was then driven to a remote building where she was attacked.
After allegedly being gang raped, the woman was then robbed of around 5,000 Indian Rupees (£39) as well as two mobile phones. She then claimed to have more money, to the value of 100,000 Indian Rupees (£774), back at her home.

This led to the men driving her to her house at around 2am on Sunday to retrieve the cash. However, she was able to escape by locking herself inside without the attackers before calling police.
The force have now charged the men with gang rape, assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, kidnapping, and robbery.
A senior police officer leading the investigation said: "We are continuing the investigation to establish the sequence of events and are also verifying whether the accused have any previous criminal antecedents or are involved in similar offences."
