Rafaela, known online as Rapha Poppet, said she went to turn the pressure cooker off when the machine exploded in her face.
In a post online, she shared pictures of the horrific burn and said: “I went to turn off the pressure cooker that was building pressure, but it was leaking water, a bit of foam.
“When I turned it off, I grabbed the handle, and its lock didn’t work, it turned a little to the side and ‘BUMM’, it exploded.”
After the explosion, she pushed the lid against the wall with her hand, but the boiling water splashed onto her face and chest.
Sharing details with her 20,000 follower, she added: “It was four hours of a lot of pain and burning.”
Shocking images show her scorched skin covered in blisters.
The grim burn snaked from her chest all the way up to her forehead.
The influencer told how she was treated by emergency medical services and taken first to a local emergency care unit and later to a municipal hospital.
Rafaela, who works as a nail designer and educational mentor, told her followers she is recovering well but still needs rest before resuming work.
She also warned to be cautious when using pressure cookers, saying: “I was already terrified, and now, I can only thank the Lord.”
It comes months after schoolboy Caden Ballard, 12, was left screaming in agony with his skin melting away after a viral stunt went horribly wrong.
Caden tried to recreate a fire experiment he saw on TikTok, but instead of a harmless trick, his shirt ignited in a nearly deadly blaze.
The preteen and his older brother attempted to light a glass bottle filled with rubbing alcohol, as seen in a popular social media stunt, at their home in Coleman, Texas, on August 16.
But the liquid burned with an invisible flame, and when Caden went to toss the bottle, it set his clothes on fire.
He quickly suffered second and third-degree burns across his chest, arms, and torso.
Caden’s older brother acted fast, ripping off the flaming shirt and saving Caden’s life before he was rushed to the hospital.
When Caden’s mom walked up to the porch, she saw her son’s face, chest, arms, and stomach covered in burns.
“It looked like his skin had been melted away,” Caden’s mom, Christina, told CBS affiliate KTAB.
“They like to listen to the story times on TikTok, you know, the Reddit stories. So I never expected things to go the way they went.”
The young boy is now recovering but faces a long road of surgeries and skin grafts ahead, his family said.
