Archaeologists are buzzing with the astonishing claim that they may have discovered Jesus' Holy Grail cup beneath Jordan's renowned Al Khazneh, famously depicted as a temple in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, marking an "awesome" moment of historical revelation.
The pursuit for archaeological treasures beneath Petra's Al Khazneh - which served as the Temple of the Sun in the iconic film starring Harrison Ford - has unearthed a previously unknown tomb.
This sensational discovery boasts a collection of 12 skeletons and various other relics, including a chalice reminiscent of the legendary Holy Grail, reports The Daily Mail.
Strikingly paralleling the storyline of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, where similar awe-inspiring artifacts were pursued in the 1989 box-office hit, also featuring Sean Connery, this real-world discovery seems to mimic Hollywood.
Dr Pearce Paul Creasman, representing the American Center of Research (ACOR), along with television explorer Josh Gates from The Discovery Channel, spearheaded this incredible find, reports the Mirror US.

The potential insights it could offer about the Nabataeans, the advanced Arab civilization responsible for building such architectural wonders, has sent ripples of excitement through the historical community.
Gates couldn't contain his thrill on an episode of The Discovery Channel's 'Expedition Unknown' as he stood before one of the most illustrious frontispieces in the world making the "hugely rare discovery".
In his own words, he said: "Even in front of one of the most famous buildings in the world...there are still huge discoveries to be made."
The Jordanian authorities have given the nod to ACOR for an excavation beneath Petra's iconic Treasury, with hopes of uncovering new chambers. Last August's dig, captured by the Expedition Unknown team, unearthed tombs containing 12 intact skeletons and a treasure trove of bronze, iron, and ceramic relics.

Due to Petra's varying flood and humidity conditions, some skeletons were found with mould. Amongst the finds was a ceramic chalice, eerily similar to the fabled Holy Grail, prompting Gates to remark: "It really was this awesome moment of history imitating art."
Back in 2003, explorers discovered two tombs with skeletal remains under Al-Khazneh's left side. Dr. Creasman and his colleagues suspected there were more secrets to be found.
Employing ground-penetrating radar, which sends out electromagnetic waves, they identified possible hidden chambers flanking Al-Khazneh.
