Trump tariff war roil global stock markets

After US President Donald Trump triggered a historic market rebound by announcing a 90-day pause on the tariffs he'd slapped on countries around the world, he reignited turmoil on Friday by simultaneously raising levies on Chinese goods. In response, Beijing hit back with 125 percent tariffs on the same day, roiling markets once more.

UN finds 36 Israeli strikes on Gaza killed only women and children

The United Nations on Friday decried the impact of ongoing Israeli strikes across Gaza on civilians, finding that "a large percentage of fatalities are children and women". The UN rights office warned that expanding Israeli evacuation orders were resulting in the "forcible transfer" of people into ever-shrinking spaces in the Palestinian territory.
