A mass casualty incident has been declared after a reported floor collapse at a wedding venue in Tamworth, New Hampshire, according to early reports. It is not yet clear how many people have been injured. Officials declared the major incident at the site at around 5pm local time. According to local reports, the venue in Philbrook Neighbourhood Road is thought to be part of The Preserve at Chocorua.

A huge emergency service presence rushed into the area, with the Tamworth police department confirming the incident and asking people to avoid the area while they carry out their work. No reason as to what confirmed the collapses has yet to be given, with reports suggesting that the floor collapsed while 145 people were at the venue.

The number of injuries has also yet to be confirmed however, reports suggest that people may still be trapped in the wreckage.

The declaration of a mass casualty incident is only triggered when the number of victims may overwhelm local hospitals and medical resources.
