It had arrived in Florida from San Juan, Puerto Rico, at around 2pm on Sunday.The crash prompted “a full ground stop” at the airport while first responders assessed the scene, US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said.“Units arrived to find an airplane that had caught fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing,” Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said on X. “Firefighters are working on extinguishing the fire and assessing patients.”Videos circulating online appear to show the aircraft travelling beyond the runway and crossing a road before coming to rest near a parking area. Other footage shows flames engulfing its right side as thick black smoke rises from the wreckage.
