Facebook and Instagram are reportedly down as thousands of users report issues with their accounts. A huge spike of problem reports has been detected on DownDetector, a website that monitors technical outages.
Thousands of users have reported issues in the UK, as well as in Spain and the US among other countries. One UK Facebook user wrote on Downdetector: "All Meta apps are down as of 1pm GMT".

Over 4000 reports of issues from Facebook users
4374 reports of issues were recorded around 1pm in the UK. They have diminished since then, but Instagram users are still experiencing issues.
Users locked out of their accounts
Users are still reporting being locked out of their accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and also Threads (part of Instagram).
Some minor issues are also affecting WhatsApp users.

Reports of issues continue to grow
The number of issues being reported on Instagram is growing, according to Downdetector.
Facebook and Instagram users cannot log back in
Due to this outage, thousands of users in the UK have been logged out of their accounts on their mobile app and laptop and cannot log back in.
'All apps down'
Another user said: "All Meta apps are down as of 1pm GMT."
'Account unavailable'
Many users trying access their Facebook app are seeing the following message: "Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue.
"We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes."
Issues on multiple devices
Some Facebook users also said they are having issues trying to access or use their accounts from a laptop.

This is the second outage affecting Meta in 72 hours.
Outage expanding
According to the latest reports, issues are now affecting users in the US and Spain.
Apps not loading
Users are saying they are not able to load their feeds or log in into their accounts on Facebook.
On Instagram, they are currently unable to post stories and reels.
