Horrifying footage, which The Sun has chosen not to show, shows the moment the train comes barreling down rail tracks which sit in the middle of a busy street.

Dozens of cars, motorbikes and the blue passenger bus were all sat in the middle of the road as the powerful train approached.

A woman inside the bus can be seen panicking as she realises the imminent danger she is in.

The train smashes into the bus, which quickly set on fire, as it continues to drag it along the rail line, crashing into everything in its path.

Motorists are seen scrambling as several people are rammed over and seen on the ground.

Several motorbikes are seen being thrown across the road after the accident as people walk away from the mayhem.

The railway line is mainly used as the fastest way of getting people from downtown Bangkok to the nearby airport.

Later videos showed a group of rescuers going inside the charred bus after the flames were controlled.

The cargo train collided with vehicles on a congested level-crossing below the Makkasan station at around 3.40pm local time.

Authorities said the tragic crash occurred on the rail line intersecting the busy Asok-Din Daeng Road below.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and confirmed that at least six people had been killed in the collision. The death toll later rose to eight.

Authorities said that a further 32 people suffered injuries.

The fire has now been brought under control, with crews cooling the area, venting gas and continuing to search for victims, they said.

A probe into the fatal wreck has been launched, and it will be determined whether traffic warning systems failed.

The railway crossing has reportedly been the site of many accidents previously.

In many of the incidents, motorists ignored signals and attempted to cross before approaching trains.

Earlier this year, 32 people were killed in Thailand after a construction crane collapsed onto a moving train.

The crane derailed the train and crushed some of its carriages, sparking a major fire.

Dozens of passengers were trapped inside the mangled locomotive as it caught fire with around 64 others injured including a one-year-old.

Around 195 people were on board travelling from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima province in Thailand this morning when the construction equipment plunged onto the tracks.

Passengers, made up of both locals and tourists, screamed as the train collided with the metal at speed.

Just a day later, two more were killed when another construction crane collapsed on a busy road in Bangkok.

The horror incident occurred on an extension of the Rama 2 Road expressway, a major artery leading from the capital.

The crane and a concrete beam both caved in at part of the road project in Samut Sakhon province, crashing onto two vehicles and trapping them in the wreckage.

Images show a white truck completely crushed by the huge concrete slab, with debris strewn around the terrifying scene.
