Explosions have been reported in parts of Dubai as authorities warn they are responding to a fresh missile attack. National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority in Dubai said Air defense systems are currently responding to a missile threat.

Authorites have told residents to remain in a safe location and follow official channels for warnings and updates. Social media users have reported hearing loud 'booms in the Deira Murraqabat area at around 5.55pm local time. The UAE's Ministry of Defence has confirmed UAE air defences are currently responding to incoming ballistic missiles, fighter aircraft and drones. The sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the interceptions of these by air defense systems. Authorities are urging residents to stay in remain in a safe location and to follow official channels for warning and updates.

One social media user wrote that they heard a "loud boom" in the Deira Murraqabat area at around 5.55pm local time.

"UAE air defence systems are currently dealing with missile and drone attacks coming from Iran.

"The Ministry of Defence confirms that the sounds heard in various areas of the country are the result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, fighter aircraft and drones.

"The public is urged to follow the safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities."
