He allegedly shot his wife because she “ignored him while he was feeling unwell”.

The suspect is originally from Witham, Essex and cops warned he was carrying a gun when he fled the scene.

Pattanee’s body was found by shocked police officers this morning at 11am local time – it was reportedly lying face up on a motorcycle.

She was moved onto the ground as attempts were made to save her but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops think Brit Condron shot his wife as she got on the motorbike to leave.

It took a huge manhunt to find the man, who had lived in Thailand for over a decade, locals said.

He was found smoking on a hotel balcony around 80 miles away.

Condron allegedly plotted to flee to the coastal town Pattaya, but armed police surrounded the hotel.

Footage shows him smirking as he is being frogmarched into a police van.

He can be seen saying: “Do they have to take so many cameras, oh thank you for coming, tell them I will only speak for a little bit of time.

“I’m not going to run, I’m going to get in the car.”

Police Major General Anuwat Suwannaphum said Condron surrendered voluntarily, adding that the suspect was “confused”.

He said: “What he has stated so far is that he had an argument with his wife.

“He also said he was ill, which made him angry, and the situation escalated into a confrontation that led to the shooting.

“His statements remain unclear, but the main point we can gather is that he felt his wife was not taking proper care of him, even though he was sick and needed medical treatment.

“He felt she was ignoring him being unwell.”

Locals claimed Condron had a history of drugs and violence.

Pattanee’s family are “overcome with grief”, cops added.

Police Major General Paladech Petwango said: “The victim was a well-loved member of the community due to her friendly nature and volunteering work with schools and charities.

“Her friends and family are in shock.

“They are overcome with grief and cannot understand how this happened.”

He said that cops are still investigating if Condron had help escaping the scene of the alleged murder.

Police also questioned neighbours who said that before hearing gunshots, they heard the Brit shouting at Pattanee.

Cops said the couple had lived together for several years but didn’t have any children together.

He said: “The wife ran a homestay named Janpanom Farm Stay, while the foreign man was retired and unemployed.

“The case has drawn strong public attention, and the suspect also carried a firearm, which posed a danger to the public, so we had to urgently find him.”

Petwango added: “The suspect had told foreign friends in Pattaya that he planned to turn himself in there.”

“He said he felt guilty and feared being assaulted by his wife’s relatives, but he was eventually arrested in Khon Kaen.”

If convicted of murder, Condron could get 20 years behind bars or the death penalty.
