The peace process in the DR Congo is stalling. The M23 rebels and the Congolese government are accusing each other of breaking the ceasefire, and the threats are mounting.
Small island states are among the regions worst affected by climate change. Cape Verde is one of them. For years, warming waters have caused certain seaweed to proliferate on the coasts, leading to illness among the local population. Locals are doing what they can to stem the flow of ocean algae and even turn it into an opportunity.
We're in Paris, where the art world’s attention is focused on Africa for three days at AKAA (Also Known As Africa). Since its foundation in 2016, this fair has become a meeting point for galleries and artists from the continent and its diaspora. This year's event showcases everything from contemporary painting and sculpture to design and immersive experiences, all of which draw inspiration from African creativity. One of those artists is here with us today: Terence Ntsako Maluleke.
