Sometimes, the right gift, at the right time, can turn into something that thousands can benefit from. Just like the 100 acres of land a Texas family gifted to the City of Odessa, which is becoming a $145 million sports and recreation hub. The construction work will hit another major milestone next month, with a topping-out ceremony scheduled for October 7 to mark the progress on the transformational project. The complex will function as both a neighbourhood recreation hub and a tournament destination. The complex includes 30 indoor courts and 22 outdoor fields for leagues and pick-up play. Regionally, the facility has enough capacity to host simultaneous competitions, which means it can draw tournament traffic from across the state. The amphitheatre adds a civic gathering space that serves concerts and community events.
