He said: "I'm looking for a job. And I've always wanted to work at McDonald's but I never did.

"I'm running against somebody that said she did, but it turned out to be a totally phony story."

"So, if you don't mind, I want to work the French fry counter. How much are you paying me?"

Chatting with one worker, Trump said: "It's a good job, isn't it? Not bad. You have a nice owner?

"Be careful, he's right there. Be careful. Eight years, that's the end of that."

Prepping a portion of fries, Trump said: "I love salt - wait a minute, I spilled some."

Trump then suddenly threw some salt over his shoulder, saying: "I'm very superstitious."

Serving his first drive-thru customers, Trump said: "This is not a normal situation, is it?"

He added: "Can you believe this? Look at this guy, he's a MAGA guy all the way.

"What a good-looking family - how did you produce those good-looking kids?"

He told the family: "The food is all on Trump. It's going to be the best - I made it myself. This is fun, I could do this all day - I like this job."

Asked if he would order anything himself, Trump said: "I'm going to definitely have French fries for the plane."

Trump tried out life as a McDonald's worker while campaigning in the Philadelphia suburb of Feasterville-Trevose.

Posting on Twitter, Piers Morgan said: "This is one of the best political stunts of all time."
