US President Donald Trump was quickly evacuated from the Washington Hilton on Saturday after what sounded like gunshots broke out.

US President Donald Trump was rushed to safety on Saturday evening after suspected gunshots were heard while top officials were attending an annual dinner. The US President was enjoying the black-tie White House correspondents' dinner at the Washington Hilton when he was interrupted by a commotion.
Loud bangs could be heard, prompting the Secret Service to rush in and escort the president away from the venue as they called out “stay down, stay down”. Other top officials were also rushed out of the building while attendees crouched down.
It is not clear what has happened but there does not appear to be any injuries.

Those present at the dinner have reported hearing five to eight gunshots.
The banquet hall, packed with leading journalists, celebrities and top officials, was waiting for the US President to deliver his speech when Donald Trump was evacuated.
Members of the National Guard took up position inside the building as people were allowed to leave but not re-enter.
