Donald Trump health fears as dark bruise spotted on President's hand - 'He looks terrible!

A dark bruise has been spotted on Donald Trump's hand again as the US President signed an executive order in the Oval Office on Monday. The issue of the president’s health has been discussed regularly since his return to the White House, with commentators noting a change to his demeanour, walking style and several unexplained bruises and marks.

On Friday, Trump appeared in the Oval Office with what appeared to be makeup applied to his hand. The large patch of what appeared to be foundation could be seen on his hand, made obvious by the difference in colour with the surrounding area. Seated at his desk, the president seemingly made several attempts to cover his right hand by placing his left on top of it, fuelling speculation that all is not well with the 79-year-old.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt did not address the bruising but has previously attributed the amount of hand shakes the president gives each day as a reason for bruising on the back of his right hand.

She said: “President Trump is a man of the people and meets more Americans, shaking hands daily, than any other president in history. His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day."

Donald Trump has had bruises on his hands at various times during his presidency, including in April when he appeared at the presentation ceremony for the Commander-in-Chief Trophy, bestowed upon the American college football series champions among teams from the Military Academy.

Many users on social media have speculated about what the bruising to the hand could indicate.

One person on X said: “What is happening? Trump looks terrible. His skin, he’s bloated and has a huge bruise on his hand…heart failure.

“Look at his bloated and bruised hand. He can barely hold the pen.”

Donald Trump was appearing in the Oval Office to sign Executive Orders surrounding his controversial deployment of the National Guard in the nation’s capital.

On this occasion he signed an order eliminating cashless bail for suspects arrested in Washington, D.C., and in other jurisdictions around the nation with similar policies, according to fact sheets issued by the White House.

Bruising to the hand is most common in minor trauma from trips and falls but in other cases can be a symptom of more serious health conditions including vitamin deficiencies or in extreme cases leukaemia or liver disease.

Speaking in February after similar bruises appeared on the president’s hand, Dr Gareth Nye from the University of Salford suggested that based on the vivid greenish-purple blemish, Trump might be undergoing IV therapy, reports the Daily Star.

He added: "Bruising is much more common as you age due to the thinning of skin and weakening of blood vessels.

“As we age, even minor bumps can result in bruising and there's often very little underlying to suggest a health concern.

"This is more likely if a person is on blood thinning medication or has been exposed to excessive sunlight. It could also be a completely benign condition called Actinic purpura, which is also caused by excessive sun exposure.

"It does resemble the type of bruising left by IV drip insertion, although there's no evidence of IV usage or need."
