Trump congratulates Sean Hannity, Ainsley Earhardt on engagement

US President elect Donald Trump recently extended his congratulatory wishes to Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Ainsley Earhardt after their engagement was announced by the network.
In a post on his Truth Social platform Trump wrote on Thursday, he described the engagement as a "deal made in HEAVEN!!!"
Trump has had a rocky past with Fox News since entering politics. The network, which tops the list of most-watched cable news outlets in the US, has often been criticised by Trump, particularly in October when he accused it "grown weak and soft on Democrats."
Despite this, Trump has made numerous appearances on Fox News shows and nominated host Pete Hegseth for the position of secretary of defense. In April 2023, Fox News agreed to pay $787.5 million to Dominion Voting Systems after several of its hosts and guests falsely claimed the company had been involved in rigging the 2020 presidential election against Trump as per the Newsweek.

In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote: "Great news about Sean and Ainsley. They are officially engaged to be married! There are no finer people than these, and there will be no finer couple. Congratulations to both - A deal made in HEAVEN!!! DJT."
The abbreviation "DJT" indicates messages personally written by Trump.
Hannity, who has hosted his own Fox News show since 2009, and Earhardt, co-host of Fox and Friends and author of four New York Times bestselling books, shared their joy in a statement released by Fox News. The couple expressed their excitement, "We are overjoyed and so thankful to our families for all of their love and support during this wonderful time in our lives."

According to Fox News, Hannity proposed to Earhardt at their home church over Christmas, calling it the "perfect place" for the special moment. Both Hannity and Earhardt were previously married and have children from their former relationships—two and one, respectively. The couple confirmed that they maintain good relationships with their former partners and had informed them of the new development ahead of time.
Their engagement has drawn all kinds of reaction from people with some cherishing the duo and others pointing out the difference in their age.
The date of their wedding has not been announced, though an official update is expected in the near future. Both Hannity and Earhardt will continue to host their respective shows on Fox News.
