Milan prosecutors are investigating "sniper safaris" that allegedly took place in wartime Sarajevo during the brutal Bosnia War, in the early to mid 1990's, following a formal criminal complaint submitted by Milan writer Ezio Gavazzeni. He said that he had read about them in the Italian press in the 1990's and began gathering evidence after seeing a haunting 2022 documentary about wealthy Italians and other rich westerners travelling to Sarajevo, paying the Serbian army large sums of money, to hunt down civilians of all ages for sport.
