A shocked witness told police he saw the 37-year-old male driver and the 33-year-old female passenger “obviously having sexual intercourse” as the car veered between lanes.

At one point, the vehicle pulled so sharply to the right it forced a lorry onto the hard shoulder to avoid a crash, local media reported.

Police intercepted the couple soon after at a service station outside Münster.

The man was arrested and now faces criminal proceedings for dangerous interference with road traffic.

Under Section 315b of the German Penal Code, he could be jailed for up to five years if convicted.

Germany’s famous Autobahn is known for sections without speed limits, but not every part is unrestricted.

It comes after a driver was caught speeding down the Autobahn in July at an astounding 200 mph, which is more than 124 mph over the posted speed limit.

The driver was apprehended during a routine check on the A2 highway in Burg, just west of Berlin.

The driver’s identity has not been disclosed.

The driver was fined €900 (£784), banned from driving for three months, and had two points deducted from their licence, according to cops in Magdeburg.

An Enforcement Trailer, a stationary radar system, detected the vehicle.

The equipment displayed “the highest record speed,” according to the authorities.

Meanwhile, a German couple were arrested after allegedly having sex in front of horrified British holidaymakers and children at a Magaluf hotel.

The 43-year-old man and 42-year-old woman are accused of brazenly romping in the water at the four-star Mon Port Hotel & Spa in Port d’Andratx.

Prosecutors say several minors and their horrified families witnessed the X-rated scenes on August 13 last year.

Adults reportedly begged the pair to stop — but were ignored.

The couple were arrested and have now been charged with a crime of indecent exposure.

Public prosecutors are demanding they each pay a £4,685 fine if convicted at an upcoming trial in Majorcan capital Palma.

SPEED RULES ON THE AUTOBAHN

GERMANY’S Autobahn might be world-famous for its lack of speed limits, but not every stretch is a free-for-all.

• No limit — but not everywhere: Around 70% of the network has recommended top speeds of 130 km/h (81 mph), though some drivers go faster.

• Speed limits apply: Roughly 30% of roads do have fixed limits, especially near cities, junctions, or accident-prone areas.

• Smart controls:
Another 9% use electronic traffic systems to impose variable limits during heavy traffic or bad weather.

• Fines and bans: Drivers caught speeding can face hefty fines, licence points, and even driving bans — especially for reckless or dangerous behaviour.
