Donald Trump was mocked on CNN over his latest claim (Image: Getty)
CNN was paused for a breaking announcement about US President Donald Trump on Monday evening, in a humiliating blow to the world leader. As the breaking news banner flashed at the bottom of the screen, five presenters from Newsnight were sitting around a table discussing Trump’s claims that Iran sent a “present” which was related to oil and gas.
The lead anchor, Kasie Hunt, asked the panel: “So, does anyone sitting here have any idea what he is talking about?” Another star said while laughing: “I’m sure Scott [Jennings] does, please tell us what he’s talking about?” However, senior political commentator Scott Jennings admitted: “No, none of us does because none of us was in the room for these negotiations.”

Someone else joked that “Trump wasn’t in the room either” for the war negotiations, as the group continued to mock the President.
All five of them seemed perplexed following Trump’s claim that the US had “won” the war with Iran.
Jennings added: “To me, if you exit this and Iran that has a defanged, as it relates to missiles, as it relates to an aggressive navy, you take away their ability to make nuclear weapons, and you leave the remnant here unable to be a supporter of terrorism, that is an unequivocal win for the United States of America.”
Commentator Adam Mockler then interjected to call out Jennings’ “very careful wording” and claimed it showed the latter disagreed with Trump’s statements on the war.
Mockler said in response: “I want to show you the very careful wording Scott is using here. He’s saying, 'If that happens,’ which means that he disagrees with Trump’s statement that it already has happened.

"I also cannot believe you invoked an international coalition just two minutes ago, when Trump already tried that.
“Trump announced two weeks ago he was gathering an international coalition of ships to escort their countries through the Strait of Hormuz. Guess what? No countries answered because he spent the past year threatening to invade Greenland.”
