A victim of the fatal plane crash sent a chilling text to her mother just moments before the horror incident claimed the lives of seven people. Cristina Biffle, the wife of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, reportedly knew of an issue while still in the air, texting her mum, Cathy Grossu: “We’re in trouble”. The couple and their beloved children, Ryder and Emma, were confirmed dead following a devastating Cessna C500 crash at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina on Thursday.
Speaking to People, Cathy said: “She texted me from the plane, and she said, ‘We’re in trouble.’ And that was it.” She added: “So we’re devastated. We’re brokenhearted.” The incident also claimed the lives of Dennis Dutton, his son Jack, and Craig Wadsworth, who were on board the small private jet owned by Biffle's company, GB Aviation Leasing LLC.

According to a joint statement released by the Biffle, Grossu, Dutton, and Lunders families, the ill-fated aircraft departed the airport just after 10am, seemingly bound for Florida, but made a shocking U-turn less than 30 minutes later before tragically crashing upon landing.
The families remembered Greg and Cristina as "devoted parents and active philanthropists whose lives were centred around their young son Ryder and Greg's daughter Emma." They described Emma as "a wonderful human being with a kind soul who was loved by many people," while Ryder was remembered as "an active, curious and infinitely joyful child."
The statement also paid tribute to the other victims, with Dennis Dutton and his son Jack described as "deeply loved" and their loss "felt by all who knew them."
