Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter, Ava Raine, is facing backlash after an insensitive comment on a social media post, which appeared to reference the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.Raine, 24, who has followed her father’s footsteps as a WWE wrestler, shared an X post from comedian Gianmarco Soresi on her Instagram story. The post read, “If you want people to have kind words when you pass, you should say kind things when you’re alive.”

Although the post did not directly name Kirk, Raine added her own comment in a repost on her X account. Her comment read, “And I’ll stand behind this. Be kind, now more than ever.”Her post, shared just hours after Kirk was shot dead in front of thousands at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, sparked a wave of criticism online.

WWE fans expressed outrage, questioning whether the company supported Raine’s remarks, The New York Post reported. "You're an evil person," one user commented. Another, criticizing her nepotism ties, wrote, "You would NOT have a job if it wasn’t for your father being The Rock."The backlash comes amid a broader response to the tragedy, with several individuals facing consequences for insensitive posts about Kirk’s death.

The Carolina Panthers terminated football communications coordinator Charlie Rock, MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd was fired and Ohio judge Ted Berry was removed from the Joe Burrow Foundation board. A New York school officer, Tanisha Blanche, was also dismissed after her comments were deemed to glorify violence.Meanwhile, some public figures and organizations have chosen to honor Kirk’s memory. The New York Yankees held a moment of silence before a game, and the Jets displayed photos of Kirk and his family on their videoboard. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been identified as Kirk’s alleged assassin and is expected to be charged with aggravated murder. Officials believe Robinson acted alone. In Utah, aggravated murder carries the possibility of the death penalty if sought by the prosecution.
