A car exploded today at the Main Research Computing Centre of Vladimir Putin’s Presidential Executive Office in Moscow. According to the reports, the blast has caused major damage to a Mercedes ML350.
The centre in Ryabinovaya Street is some nine miles west of the Kremlin. Reports indicate that the IT facility provides advanced technological support to Putin and his administration. Emergency crews quickly arrived at the site to put out the fire. The blast was inside the car, leading to speculation there may have been a device inside the vehicle, which was unoccupied at the time.

There was no initial information on the identity of the owner of the car or the cause of the explosion. Initial reports said there were no casualties.
