A BRIT roofer has been arrested after he allegedly smuggled 39 bags of drugs through an airport after a flight from Thailand.
Cops swooped in on the 29-year-old at an airport in Zagreb, Croatia, after an x-ray showed his bag was bulging with suspicious packages.
The man claimed to have no idea about his cargo - but is now being investigated for attempting to smuggle drugs.
Tests showed his suitcase was crammed full with over 23kg of marijuana.
He had travelled with it from Thailand, through Istanbul and finally to the Croatian capital.
Local media reported that the black suitcase was flagged by sniffer dogs, before being taken for more thorough investigations.
The Brit, decked out in summer gear, was confronted with the contents.
Some 39 vacuum-sealed bags filled with plant matter were lying on the airport floor.
Chemical tests showed it contained THC - the psychoactive substance in marijuana.
The roofer was then whisked off to the police station for questioning.
At the interrogation table he claimed he had been forced into carrying the drugs, according to local media reports.
He is now being held in a cell while he awaits trial.
