Multiple people are feared to have been injured following reports of an explosion at a church in the US. Chilling pictures and footage from the scene show the Abundant Life Church on Boonville engulfed by a fire, with thick black smoke rising into the air. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene at 12644 State Route 12 following reports a blast may have happened in the building. The fire departments from Boonville, Remsen, Barneveld, and Stittville, along with Boonville Ambulance and North Star paramedics were all in attendance, as well as police officers, according to local news outlet WIBX950.  

Unconfirmed reports indicates a smell of gas was discovered in the area, but officials haven't yet shared the nature of the incident.

Multiple people are feared to have been injured, with reports suggesting there may have been between three to 13 casualties.
