A gunman has reportedly opened fire on Bondi Beach in Australia, with beachgoers urged to take shelter. NSW Police said two people are in police custody at Bondi Beach, which is located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. The operation is still ongoing and police have urged people to avoid the area and police said that anyone at the scene should take shelter. NSW Police Force said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter): " Police are responding to a developing incident at Bondi Beach and are urging the public to AVOID the area. Anyone at the scene should take shelter. Police are on scene and more information will be provided when it comes to hand."
Bondi Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Australia and according to Sydney Tourism Website, it is the most famous one in the country.

Authorities are responding to reports of gunfire at Bondi Beach, though it is not yet confirmed if anyone has been injured.
Local residents have described police vehicles rushing to the scene, and witnesses said they heard numerous shots near Campbell Parade, with some people taking cover on the ground, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. According to the news outlet, there have been reports of "multiple shots fired."
