Baked beans can be transformed with just two ingredients to give it a "Mexican twist". The classic British breakfast staple is beloved for how easy it is to make, ready to eat after only a few minutes on the pan.
Many choose to serve them up with only a chunk of butter and pour the beans over a couple of slices of toast. But popular food site Chowhound says all you need to give your next breakfast a nod to the flavours of Mexican cuising are "a few teaspoons of chipotle adobo sauce and some crumbled chorizo". Food blog Chili Pepper Madness explains the sauce is "a traditional chili paste used in Mexican cuisine" containing a rich blend of "ground chilies, vinegar, garlic, oregano, and other herbs and spices".

Known for its spicy and earthy flavour, it goes great with various kinds of meat, including chorizo.
Chowhound explains that the beans will be given a spicy kick from the adobo sauce, with the chorizo introducing some smoky flavours.
"Chorizo is also typically seasoned with garlic and paprika, which will give your beans a layered flavor profile and some irresistible aromatics," the site says.
Meanwhile, one foodie recommends a baked beans recipe with a surprising addition you may already have in your kitchen.
