Australian teacher Tayla Brailey arrested for sexually harassing student

Tayla Brailey from a school in

south-west Sydney

was

arrested

and charged for sexually abusing a 17-year-old

student

under her care.
According to the Guardian, the woman was taken into custody and appeared at Liverpool Local Court via video link on Wednesday, where she was granted conditional bail.
Following her arrest, the teacher has been suspended from her position without pay pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.

It was revealed during the court proceedings that Tayla Brailey had been cooperating with the police investigation. The prosecution presented evidence including video footage from the alleged victim's phone and CCTV footage. Brailey had also made "spontaneous admissions" related to the charges and provided access to her mobile phone.

The accused teacher was supported in court by her parents and husband. As part of her bail conditions, Brailey must remain at an Illawarra address accompanied by at least one parent, refrain from using social media, and is prohibited from entering any educational premises.
The case is scheduled to be heard again on October 2 at Campbelltown Court.
