At least 15 dead including children after huge inferno rips through hotel as people ‘jumped off building’ to avoid blaze

A DEVASTATING fire has killed at least 15 people including one woman and multiple children after a massive hotel fire in India.

Several people were injured after a huge blaze ripped through the Rituraj Hotel in central Kolkata - forcing guests to jump out their windows to escape.

Local cops confirmed that people were rescued from rooms and roof of the budget hotel.

Police chief Manoj Verma said: "The death toll has risen to 15, including two children and a woman."

He also said a probe had been launched to investigate the blaze.

"The hotel turned into a gas chamber and it appears that many people suffocated to death," he added.
