Carlos Alcaraz retained his French Open title after coming back from two sets down and saving three match points against Jannik Sinner in a 5-hour and 29-minute final, the longest in tournament history.

In football, Portugal won their second Nations League title after beating Spain on penalties (2-2, 5-3 on penalties). France won the third-place match against hosts Germany.

In cycling, Tadej Pogacar is already in yellow at the Criterium du Dauphine after winning the opening stage.
