Donald Trump confuses Iran with Venezuela during an "alarming moment" at the Oval Office as health concerns about the US president continue to soar.

Trump was hosting a cabinet meeting, which was broadcast live, when he mixed up the two countries.

He said: "I don't go into war, I go into conflict," referring to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and rising tensions between the US and Iran as no peace deal is yet to be negotiated.

He then continued: "Despite the conflict with Venezuela who no longer has a navy, no longer has an air force, no longer has a lot of people that were leading the country into very bad places."

The president did not flinch or correct himself when he made the blunder, referring to Venezuela when talking about the destruction the US has caused in Iran, that he has so widely boasted about.

Trump added: "Their leadership is gone. Their second is gone. We're dealing with half of their third as half of their third is gone too."

At other points in the meeting Trump referred correctly to Iran, claiming that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth will 'finish them off.'

"Iran is very much intent, they want very much to make a deal,' Trump said.

"So far, they haven't gotten there. We're not satisfied with it, but then we will be.

"We will be either that, or we'll have to just finish the job."

The moment has gone viral online with social media users branding it "alarming" and also claiming it is further evidence of the President's "cognitive decline".

Trump paid a visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for another health check-up, his third medical appointment in 13 months.

Despite concerns, Trump took to TruthSocial the moment the appointment concluded.

He wrote, "Just finished my 6-month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff! Heading back to the White House. President DJT."

Although the leader confirmed he was fit and healthy, doctors have analysed the president's behaviour and fear there must be something wrong.

On several occasions, he has been caught dozing off during cabinet meetings.

Dr Jonathan Reiner said to CNN: “Chronic insomnia is a severe illness. It can result in an increase in risk of dementia, decrease in cognitive effects in older people."

He added that it can create a "decline in your mental function".

The slip up made at the most recent meeting by Trump, follows another the previous week in which he mixed up Iran with Taiwan.

Both errors indiciating that the president is in a state of confusion, even though his medical appointment reportedly showed otherwise.
